You Can't Catch Fish Under the Ice by Trolling - Or Can You?

Ice Fishing Pictures Tony Roach gives details on how he finds fish under the ice by what he calls "Ice Trolling," a method of searching for fish under the ice by drilling lots of holes and using a camera or lures to see if the fish are there.

Do you fish under the ice? What do you think of these methods? Share your comments in the section below.

I think its a bit extreme! I aint that desparate to catch fish! It could also be dangerous. I think the ice is there for a reason, its distructive to drill excessive holes in it just to catch a fish. There are plenty of other species to be caught by not being so disruptive! Each fish caught in its own season!

great idea i use it all the time. if you drill holes more than 2 feet apart then it doesnt affect the ice much.

I just don’t get the whole ice fishing thing. Around Chicago, most of the fish caught through the ice are 6-8 inch bluegill and white bass. Can’t see freezing my butt off sitting on a 5 gal pail all day to catch fish that size! I might feel differently if guys were catching eater sized walleye.

I am lucky to get to fish soft water year round but if the only fishing I could do was through the ice I am sure I would go often. I enjoy catching fish, but fishing is what I love! Any kind, any where, any time.
