Ronnie, ordering fishing equipment on-line is sometimes better because you will find a larger assortment of colors & sizes than what you will find in your local store. BUT you need to pay attention to shipping charges & know exactly what you want. Sometimes it is better to get the item from your local store because you can see it in real life. Hope this helps!! I am so glad that recommendations are to buy local. Not only are we helping keep these folks in business but it is a great opportunity to meet other sportsmen and maybe get some new information and ideas. Go one step further and take a kid with you and spark some ideas and enthusiasm about a tackle box instead of an xbox!
I wholly agree with shopping locally but the local Mom and Pop stores just can’t match some of the online stores ability to stock every style and color of every model of fishing lure. The other side of this is trying to get advice about a 10 acre local lake at an online store or ‘big box’ retailer. My local bait/tackle dealer is an invaluable resource as well as a ’social’ destination even when I am not fishing!
