Braided lines are very good for some kinds of applications while fishing. They have good and bad points. Decide if braids are what you need for your fishing and use them but be careful - you can cut yourself badly if you try to wrap it around your hand and break it. i have found that for the most part the new super lines are not for the common joe fisherman.i like mono because of the foregiveness.i do alot of river fishing for walleyes and medium channel cats.well you know that means snag city.i found i get more tackle back with mono.and yes i have cut myself on fireline.ouch!!

I mostly use mono, too, for a variety of reasons, but a lot of folks swear by braid.
