KISS Fishing - Too Much Fishing Equipment

Friday October 30, 2009
There is an old saying KISS - keep it simple, stupid. This can apply to fishing. All too often we get too involved in our equipment and forget to think and catch fish. Slow down, think about what you are doing and why you are fishign and keep it simple.

Nice article, have a pond at the end of my street that I fish with youngsters.Love it. We catch small Largemouth and some nice gills and crappie. I keep a dozen crawlers and maybe some waxworms in the fridge and am always ready to go. I also fish Lk Michigan for trout and salmon, but have more fun taking a 7yr old out to catch panfish. The kids love it!

Great that you are taking kids fishing. If we don’t get them interested our sport has no future. And keeping it simple is a good way to go with or without kids!

I introduced my grandson (9 now) to the very technique at a early age. We get serious chasing the bass, lure swaps, location changes ect. But it’s the simple plan of ” what the fish will bite and any fish do ” days we laugh and have the most fun… The keep it simple plan keeps you enjoying the time spent with those you fish with.
