(1) l white says:

My favorite inland spots have become flooded! If I wanted to go I would have to launch on 80/94 and motor down the road to get to a spot. Has anyone out there got information on southern Lake Michigan, especially shoreline. Haven’t heard much worth listening to and our local newspaper has been taken over by antis and there is no longer any useful information coming from their once a week article (no longer in paper).

(2) T. Brink says:

Capt. Jim is probably a pretty good Charter Capt. but his constant shilling for his prefererd tackle companies puts his credibility in doubt in my mind. This is not the only site he puts his promotion of Badger Tackle above how to catch fish. Be warned!

He does push Badger Tackle a lot. And I am sure he sends his reports to multiple sites. If I were a guide I would want mine on as many sites as possible. I am not sure if he has an interest in Badger Tackle or not but he might just really like their products. I often make reccomendations of tackle that works well for me.

It’s no different than any other sponsored professional guide. They’re all hawking their wares. If he’s a half-way decent guide, then it shouldn’t matter as long as you are catching fish.

(5) Al says:

Southern end of the lake has some great fishing. September is better than October, but since he asked the question, I’ll answer it. We always fished at Calumet right up tight to the State Line. Casting off the rock wall with 1oz Sonars produced fish. Never had much luck with spoons or Tadpollys.

(8) fishbum says:

Wisconsin has non resident licences for great lakes fishing that go from one day to annual. A real bargain for the trip. Captains are promising a lot this year. A lot of great service for small price.

I usually catch bass with weedless lures like : rapala minnow spoon and spro frog etc. They are hard to get in these days. And btw i just bought , and i caught a 3lb bass with it, with the first throw..

(17) ray says:

Try using a water melon finesse worm GULP! Brand, TX rig it, if you really like to catch bass, once you tx rig it cast, pull up three times upwards to immitate live bait, do this over and over, before I forget you gotta use 1/8 of an once weight hook for bass and if you want to see it work check it out in youtube just type in how to catch bass. And it will show you hundreds of ways to catch bass and what to use depending on the year station, something very important, enjoy!

(20) Rick Tar says:

Hello!

Do you know why it’s so important to collect and recycle abandoned fishing line?

Please visit our website to watch our short documentary, Pick Up Line, for free: http://www.pkupline.com/

We’ve gotten several monofilament recycling bins sited around our Tri-Cities and we want them at all popular Michigan fishing spots.

Anglers, please visit our website to find out how you can participate.

Thanks!
