Ambassadeur 5600 Reel

I purchased an Ambassadeur 5600 EXT baitcasting reel paired with a Lightning Rod at a recent outdoor writers meeting. I have been using this reel to cast 3/16 ounce jig heads with a 4 inch worm and it handles this light bait well, even though the reel is spooled with 15 pound PLine. The reel handles fish well with plenty of cranking power with its big handles and star drag system.

I used this outfit to land an eight pound, 13 ounce bass in a club tournament. It hit a Strike King Series 5 crankbait in the Sexy Shad color. It handled the fish well, allowing me to put pressure on it when needed but allowing smooth drag slippage when the fish made a strong run at the boat.
