How Droughts Affect Fishing
Tuesday November 18, 2008
Many lakes are low right now in the southeast and cycles of low water are common on almost all lakes. What are some of the effects of droughts and low water on fishing? Check out my list of good and bad things then add yours to the list by posting them in the comments section below. Add any thoughts you have on this subject in the same comments.

The Congaree and Wateree rivers look low enough to wade across and Ive heard that Low Falls landing at the upper end of lake Marion has been closed. You probably cant float a boat through the cut to get to the river.
hi Ron,
I was wondering, why is “The lake is more dangerous when running a boat” a “good effect?”
Keep up the good work, I enjoy your work’

I might have a good answer for Mike in SD. That goof ball that is out there every time you are, you know who he is, the guy with no respect for anyone on the lake. He usually is the first one run aground or hit a stump or other obstruction at full bore. If noone gets hurt, it will put him out of commission for a while. A Good Thing.
I don’t really want anyone to damage equipment or get hurt, but you are right, low water makes it more dangerous so many folks get scared and don’t go our. That lowers the numbers of pleasure boaters, making fishing more fun for me.
