Stocking Bass In Lakes
Saturday October 11, 2008
After a bad bass fishing trip anglers often wonder why not stock bass in this lake so I can catch more. There are several reasons for not stocking bass but the biggest is that is generally does not help a lake. Some special cases are different but most of the time stocking bass in a lake would not help.

Often it is not that a lake or pond is underpopulated. It is just that the bass(or other species sought)are where the fishing folks are not. As stated in the article, stocking could result in overpopulated and stunted fish.
Couldn’t agree more, let the biologists determine what is best for the lakes. No matter where you live the states are paying these people to do this job. And they for the most part are doing a damn good one. Everywhere you look though, some special interest group is trying to put their own ideas into lake ecology without any research or factual basis.
