Jim tries out the Wii Rapala Fishing Frenzy game and finds some good things about it, but has some concerns, too. He really enjoys the challenge it offers and the fun it provides, but worries it gives and unrealistic view of fishing.

I got this for my husband for Christmas and we can’t figure out how to cast the line. Any tips?
Same here…we tried everything and couldn’t figure out how to cast….PLEASE HELP!!!
We cannot figure out how to make the fisherman cast, either.
You must hold the wiimote horizontal and push up on the control stick (nunchuck) and hold it, then lift the wiimote to the vertical position and it will let you choose a casting distance.

After the fish bites, how do you properly hook the fish without the line breaking?
I had the same problem with casting, Activision did a very poor job with the instruction book, and did not find a tutorial on the game. Thanks for the instructions, my wife has already given up and wishes we stuck with the Sega version she bought (I returned for Activision)
THE RAPALA FISHING FRENZY GAME HAS A TUTORIAL AND I CAN GET INTO THE TUTORIAL MODE AND TURN IT ON BUT HAVE NOT YET LEARNED HOW TO START THE TUTORIAL.
FISHING FRENZY 2009 HAS A TUTORIAL. FIND THE TAB FOR THE OPTIONS AND THE TUTORIAL IS THE SECOND ITEM. I CAN GET THE TUTORIAL MODE ON BUT HAVE YET TO BE ABLE TO START IT.
To hook the fish,press the a button and lift the wiimote.
then press b button to reel in. Wach the light bars, and move the wiimote to the opposit direction of the bar who lights up.
When it goes in the red, let the b button go, push the a button and circle with the wiimote to reel off. When it turns green press B and continue.
Chose bait with the b button in starting possition.
THERE IS A TUTORIAL FOR THIS GAME. GET INTO OPTIONS AND CLICK ON TUTORIAL AND THEN IT SHOULD SHOW THAT THE TUTORIAL IS ON.
I THOUGHT THE TUTORIAL WOULD HAVE NARRATION AND WOULD HAVE A LOT OF INFORMATION BUT IT IS VERY SHORT.
MY SON WENT TO GOOGLE AND SEARCHED FOR “HOW TO CAST” AND FOUND OUT A LOT OF STUFF. MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY THAT.

How can you unlock the other lakes on the game.
To unlock the blocked lakes in the game, you have to do the tournament fishing and advance through the required stages. I think that is a rip-off. I paid for the whole game and can’t play it.
I till can’t cast, anybody got a better explanation.

Push the thumb stick on the Numchuck forward, then lift the tip of the rod back and flick it forward keeping the thumb stick forward

I’ve figured out how to cast…but once it says “Hook that fish” I don’t know which buttons to use to hook and then how to reel it in. HELP!
