Nice article on rod action. What works for me is using stiffer rods for soft plastics so the worm hook can penetrate the plastic with a good amount of force. Softer more flexible rods are great for crankbaits so the fish has a better chance to inhale the lure. : )

Lee did a good job explaining it. I agree with you on actions - and I find longer rods help me set the hook better in all actions. I used to like short rods better but now mostly use 6 to 7 footers.
