PETA Potester Protested by Parents

Saturday July 26, 2008
A father takes on PETA over their stance that all animal research is bad. They even claim that the death of a rat is not worth it even if it leads to a cure for cancer. Of course these animal rights groups want to ban all fishing as well as other uses of animals. Share your thoughts about PETA in the comments section below, either pro or con.

To counter protest radical animal activists of any kind seems futile. As the aticle shows these mental midgets, I feel this is an appropriate title for them since most of their biggest supporters are actors, super models, etc, people known to have lots of cash but little intelligence. The “research” they claim to be fact often is fabricated, manipulated, or taken out of context. Much of the researchers being challenged by them are, and have in the past, been the only ones working in that field, as in the case of the March of Dimes. Here is my point, the only way to successfully fight these morons is with cash. When someone solicits donations by mail send back the mailer filled out but without a donation. This will generate more mailings by them wondering where the donation is, at their cost. Don’t buy that CD DVD or poster of Heffners girlfriends, if any of the procedes goes to an animal rights group. Find out which musician ,actor, or any other celeb supports this insanity and make sure none of your money goes to them. As I mentioned don’t buy these peoples products. You may notice it at first, but guess what, it goes away, those of us who are tired of the assault on our lifestyle don’t notice anythig missing in our lives. Now that I am a cancer survivor I’m glad that back in the 60’s the March raised money in schools everywhere to buy white mice for cancer research. This is no longer possible because of the ridiculous political correctness that has been forced on middle
America. A rat or me or you? The rat dies. Hit em in the pocket a wise old timer once told me. It hurts a lot more than having your head kicked in.

Protesters hate when you protest them. Because they think they are the only ones with free speach. Good for them and God bless

I try to make sure I don’t contribute to anyone that supports the animal rights flakes. I won’t go to one hamburger joint because they promoted a PETA activity years ago and I won’t stay at one motel chain because they donate to them, too.

PETA is a bunch of people with nothing to do. Everyone knows they are retarded. They are a non-issue and will never influence more than a fringe contingent of lost souls.

Even though I agree with Matt on almost all points, and probably a few things he didn’t put in print, I must disagree on one point. As to being a non issue, these nut cases have been trying to dictate policy to everyone from your local animal shelter to the actions of state divisions of natural resources. All along the way trying to intimidate your elected officials from local levels to county, state and national. All with the pretext that they have an infinite knowledge of animal welfare, wether it be your cat or dog, a wild rabbit or moose. One example of this is Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The park was being overrun by deer. As a result of this overpopulation the groundcover, which includes many native plants that only grow in that unique environment became scarce, and endangered itself. The Indiana DNR, who is in charge of the park decided on a cull to thin the herd, thus saving not only the plant life but to restore the park to a healthy state. In stepped PETA. They immediately started protests, lawsuits, and brought in their own “experts” whoo wer nothing but shills with a handfull of papers they claim were the real “facts” in the case. Their idea to control the herd, injections of an untested birth control that was supposed to last for several years in a doe. What’s wrong here? For a start untested bc for a doe deer. LWhat if someone shot and consumed that animal? PETA didn’t care there were things said that the deer shouldn’t be shot and eaten anyway. What if the animal died of natural causes? A predator or scavenger would surely eat some of it, they had no answers. This is from a group that will tell you that they would rather see you, me and anyone free enough to read this that they would rather see us dead than have experimentation done on an animal. What they proposed at the Indiana Dunes, was not only experimental, but they wanted to use a drug that was untested except on pigs, where the developers of this serum came up with it. All from a group that claims animal testing to be morally reprehensible. If this isn’t experimenting on animals I don’t know what is. These people will use whatever tactic they deem necessary, mostly playing to the emotions of schoolchildren, PTA moms and the uneducated. Then they think they can intimidate policicians and the general voting public. Thanks for listening.

They do have way more political power than their numbers or their contribution to animal welfare deserves. There are groups fighting back, like U.S. Sportsmen.

I find your simple dismissal of animal rights activists amusing and narrow minded. Any one who claims to be worried about their “lifestyle” being “assaulted” is seriously missing the point and not seeing the issues confronting the earth and our nation. To dismiss animal rights groups as the “kook fringe” and “retards” and such not only displays your cognitive level, but is incorrect. Don’t think PETA is the only group around. Many animal rights groups oppose PETA for a variety of reasons. The supporters of animals that are causing the plight of animals to be a mainstream issue include billionaire industrialists, some policy makers, politically active students, academics, and others. Be aware…PETA might or might not be crazy, but they are not the only animal rights group on the playing field and animal rights is no longer a fringe issue. Our world is changing, and as it changes you will see the human centered anthropocentric ideas of our grandparents are changing too (you remember those people, the ones who were openly racist and homophopic and kept their women in the kitchen raising their “boys”?) Times are changing; get out of the past. Finally, how you treat people and animals who are powerless against you speaks directly to your character. You wouldn’t torture a human in order to save someone you know (hopefully); then why does it seem acceptable to torture an animal who you consider lesser than you in order to help someone you know? Answer: We care most about those people and things closest to us. This is understandable selfishness (I’m included in this group, by the way) and hopefully as we continue to evolve we will be able to leave this character trait behind. The world can no longer support American excess and people who feel they are owed or “deserve” a certain lifestyle.

Yes, you are right, PETA isn’t the only group of nuts out there. But the discussion is about their protest. See a doctor about the problem you have with your grandparents. You have no right to make aspurgeons to mine. Go back to class. Your industrialists love the tax breaks. I don’t think you would know a policymaker if he tripped over you. As for the academics, students and others well intentioned maybe, but there for the attention. You don’t have the backing of anyone working in the forestry, biology, or any other reputable scientists. Your animorphic veiw of reality will amuse your grandchildren I hope they don’t dislike you.

I am one of those individuals who abhor true animal cruelty. A person who intentionally hurts or kills a defenseless animal should be subject to punishment under the full extent of the law. But these PETA imbeciles are altogether another issue. They are completely beyond rational thought and action and should be completely ignored by society and the media at large. If Willard the Rat is all that stands between us and a cure for some dreaded disease such as cancer, diabetes or even HIV/AIDS then there is NO debate! Goodbye Willard the Rat, understand?
