St Croix Fishing Rod Review

Sunday July 20, 2008
I won a St. Croix Avid AVC70MF rod at a tournament for a second place finish. When I first tried it I did not like it, I was used to a shorter rod and I thought the action was too light. But as I used it more I liked it better and better, to the point of buying two more. They are my favorite bait casting rods for all-around use.

I have to wonder if the St Croix or Fenwick rods are worth the $. I recently purchased 2 rods from AcadiaSports.com for $49.95 for two, and am not sure that these rods are as good as anything on the market. I have a Cabela’s HMLti-Shimiano Stradic combo in my collection, and I can’t tell the difference between my Stradic combo and the Acadia-Shimano Solstace combo that I have been useing. It’s your money!
