Big Bass and Catfish

Wednesday June 4, 2008
Big fish are milestones in all fishermen's memories and your first eight pound bass or eight pound catfish will always stand out. Some of us fish for many years trying for big fish that always seem just out of reach. What is your biggest bass? Catfish? Share your stories in the comments section or email me a "fishtale" to post here.

I catch a good many cats while fishing for bass. They taste just as good when you catch them accidently!

I fish the Red River in Manitoba, Canada once a year for catfish. Every time we get at least one and often several over 3 feet and 30 lbs. This year I took my girlfriend for her first ever fishing experience. She boated a 30+lb (maxed out our scale) 37″ big fat cat.. She’s hooked for life now. If you want big action on big cats, that’s the place to be! (Also incredible for big walleye in the fall).
