Every time you crank your engine on a boat, especially a bass boat, you should be wearing your life jacket and have a kill switch attached. Although foot gas controls on boats have helped, you don't want your gas motor in gear and running if you get thrown out. And you want to stay afloat. Most tournaments require life jackest to be worn and kill switches attached any time the big motor is running.
