A few years ago I found out how fisheries biologists make predictions about populations and fishing for lakes and rivers. Crappie are one of the most popular fish in the south and they survey the populations each year. The methods they use were very interesting to me.

We have one of the best crappie lakes in the south. Recently, we’ve had a lot of government types performing endless surveys based on the low production of quality size crappie in the last few years.
