Finding Bass On New Lakes - How To Find Bass

Wednesday September 13, 2006
My first bass on Truman Lake I recently fished Truman Lake in Missouri, a lake I had never seen before. To find out about it I went online and got some information, and found a cabin to stay in at Hickory Hollow Resort within a few miles of the lake. I stopped by Tebo Creek Bait Shop and talked with the owner as well as a bass fisherman that came in while I was there. They both gave me some tips and the owner gave me a map of the lake.

I put in at the nearby ramp and eased out and started fishing the riprap on a nearby bridge with a tube. I quickly landed a 15 inch bass. The attached article is based on my thoughts on that trip about finding bass on a new lake, and they might even help you find bass on a lake you fish a lot.

Thanks for the tips! I’ve got a lot that I need to learn in this industry, and great articles like this will help me when I go test out new tackle products. ;)

Glad this helps. I have picked up some things over the 50 years I have been bass fishing that work for me and am happy to share them here - hope they help you out.
