Shad Are Running In Florida

Look for American shad along the St. Johns River between Puzzle Lake, west of State Road 46, and further northwest towards lakes Harney and Monroe. The stretch of river between these two lakes, including Mullet Lake and Marina Isle, are prime areas to find shad. Most anglers are drifting or trolling along the deepest areas of this stretch of river.
